The old hotel is just like it was in 1920 except some of the electric lights have been upgraded. They still have the rates posted on a piece of paper scotch taped to the check in desk: $132 a week. They have a buffet dining room open only at lunch Monday through Saturday. No air conditioning! The food is fantastic and the buffet includes drink and dessert (pie and cobbler and All you can eat)!!.”

June Photo of the Month Winner - Category I Relaxing at Lake Bridgeport Wise County Park. The Wise County Park at Lake Bridgeport (no fee !), located 8.6 miles NW of the town of Bridgeport, TX is readily accessible by multiple routes and is a pleasant, well kept destination whether for a day visit or overnight. There is a Convenience store at the turnoff entrance from Highway 2952, which runs N/S east of the Lake. My approach from the south was via 920, a most pleasant and gentle rural ride.
